Drama Project – Actor

We firstly had tried to find an actor through facebook and emailing different drama societies but we didn’t receive much luck. Our luck was low as we had many actors interested in our sent scripts but none of them on our behalf really met up to what we were looking for. We wanted a more of an older actor but we were only getting feedback off actors around 18 to 21. Thankfully, we were recommended a website called star now, were we created a casting call, this was great as we then were able to find a more specific actor to meet our characters looks. We asked for males between the ages of 35 to 50.

An actor got in touch with us called Jonathan who seemed to have had lots of acting experience and luckily also once used to suffer with panic attacks. He had a knowledge of agoraphobia and therefore were happy he could relate to the character personally which was quite a stroke of luck on our part. He seemed very passionate about our idea and was looking forward to our first meeting to discuss the idea into further depth. I could not attend our group meeting because of other university work but from what I was told, Jonathan seemed very interested with our script and told the group a lot about his experiences with panic attacks. Overall he had not many questions for the group and was quite up for anything.
